01 Day: Arrival Chennai
Assistance on arrival at Chennai airport and transfer to the hotel. After relaxation proceed for the city tour of Chennai - located on the Coromandel Coast, it is the gateway to south India and also an important harbor. Visit the St. George Fort built in 1640 A.D which now houses the Tamil Nadu State Legislature and Secretariat, Saint Thomas Cathedral, which is said to contain the remains of St Thomas and the famous bronze Museum. Overnight at hotel.
02 Day: Chennai – Tirupati – Chennai (137 kms one way)
After breakfast drive to Tirupati - a temple and pilgrim town located at the foot of the Tirumala Hills on which the ancient and beautiful temple of Lord Venkateshwara stands. Visit at the holiest land of the Hindu pilgrimage by visit to the temple of Tirupati for Darshan of Lord Balaji. After Darshan (prayer), drive back to Chennai for overnight stay.
03 Day: Chennai – Mahabalipuram (140 kms - 3 hrs)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Mahabalipuram, on arrival transfer to the hotel. After relaxation explore the ancient seaport city of Pallava’s, known for its rock hewn temples with statues of gods and goddesses, monsters and angels, snakes, water nymphs and animals that crowd the rock to watch the descent of Ganges flow through Shiva's hair. Overnight in Mahabalipuram.
04 Day: Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram
Morning after breakfast drive to visit Kanchipuram, one of India's seven sacred Hindu cities. Also called as the city of thousand temples; it has magnificent temples of unique architectural beauty that bear eloquent testimony to its glorious Dravidian heritage. Notable being the Kailasnatha Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, finest example of Pallava architecture. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silk saris. After visit drive back to Mahabalipuram. Day at leisure, overnight at the hotel.
05 Day: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (165 kms - 4 hrs)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Pondicherry, the capital of the French colonies in India since the 17th century. On arrival transfer to the hotel. After relaxation take a sightseeing tour of Pondicherry visiting Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the Ecole Françoise d’Extreme Orient, the Jesuit Cathedral (Notre Dame de la Conception’ 1691-1765), The Church of Our Lady of Angels (1855), famous for an oil painting of Our Lady of Assumption given to the Church by King Louis Napoleon III, and the 17th century Chapel of Our Sisters of Cluny. Rest of the evening free for leisure. Overnight at Pondicherry.
06 Day: Pondicherry – Tanjore (177 kms - 4 hrs)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Tanjore, enroute visit Chidambaram. Later continue driving to Tanjore, on arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon, visit Tanjore (Thanjavur) which was the ancient capital of Chola kings. Visit the Brihadeshwara temple which was built by Raja and is termed as the crowning glory of Chola temple architecture. This temple is one of the monuments in India with World Heritage listing. Also visit the Thanjavur Palace which was constructed in 1550 and has huge corridors, spacious halls, observation and arsenal towers. Overnight at the hotel in Tanjore.
07 Day: Tanjore – Trichy (50 Kms - 1 hr)
After breakfast checkout and drive to Trichy, on arrival transfer to hotel. After relaxation visit to the Rock Fort Temple, the Sri Ranganathanswami Temple and Jambukeshwara Temples. Evening drive back to hotel or take a walk through old city particularly big bazar street and China bazar. Overnight in Trichy.
08 Day: Trichy – Madurai (130 Kms - 3 hrs)
After breakfast checkout and drive to Madurai, on arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Madurai visiting Meenakshi Temple, Tirumalai Nayak Palace and Vandiyur Mariamman Teepakulam where annual float festival takes place. Overnight at hotel in Madurai.
09 Day: Madurai
Morning after breakfast day is free for leisure, relaxation and to explore the city on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
10 Day: Madurai – Rameshwaram (172 Kms - 4 hrs)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Rameshwaram. On arrival transfer to hotel. Often referred to as the ‘Island of Prayer’, and also considered to Varanasi of the South this major pilgrimage center is on an island in the Gulf of Mannar. Most of the town’s, places to stay and eat are cluttered around the Ramanathaswamy Temple. Built in the 12th century AD, the temple with its awe-inspiring corridors, and the longest in India. Overnight in Rameshwaram.
11 Day: Rameshwaram – Kanyakumari (314 Kms - 6 hrs)
After breakfast checkout and drive to Cape Camorin also known as Kanya Kumari, this place is at the tail tip end of India, one can see the 3 seas meet over here (Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean & bay of Bengal) on arrival transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
12 Day: Kanyakumari
Morning after breakfast visit Kumari Amman Devi Temple, Vivekananda Rock & Ashram, evening free to enjoy sunset over here. Overnight at Kanyakumari.
13 Day: Kanyakumari – Kovalam (84 kms/ 2 hrs)
Today after breakfast, checkout and drive to Kovalam. On arrival transfer to the beach resort. Day is free to enjoy the beach activities. Overnight at the beach resort.
14 Day: Kovalam – Trivandrum – Mumbai/ Delhi (By Air)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Trivandrum, take a sight seeing tour of Trivandrum City in the morning covering the Padamanbhaswamy Temple & Palace, Chaitra Art Gallery and Napier Museum.
