Assistance on arrival at Bhubaneswar airport and transfer to hotel. After rest and relaxation, visit the temples of Bhubaneswar like, Lingaraja Temples, Mukteswara temple, Rajarani Temple, Parasurameswara Temple, Mukteswara Temple, Brahmeswara Temple and Bindu Sorovar one of four sacred Lake of India for Hindus. Overnight at the hotel.
2 Day: Bhubaneswar
Morning after breakfast drive to Hirapur to see one of the four 64 Yogini temples of India, 15 kms from Bhubaneswar city within a typical bell metal village. Afternoon proceeds to Khandagiri and Udayagiri Jain caves dated back to 2nd century B.C. Later visit the bazaars of Bhubaneswar for typical Orissan Sarees and handicrafts. Overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.
3 Day: Bhubaneswar/ Konark/ Puri (120 Kms – 4 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast proceeds to Puri, one of the Dhams for the Hindus called Swarga Dwar or Door to Heaven, enroute visiting Konark Sun temple of 13th Century A.D. The magnificent Sun Temple at Konark is the culmination of Orissan temple architecture, and one of the most stunning monuments of religious architecture in the world. The poet Rabindranath Tagore said of Konark that 'here the language of stone surpasses the language of man', and it is true that the experience of Konark is impossible to translate into words. After Konark sightseeing, continue drive to Puri enroute visiting Chandrabhaga beach and river. It is believed that Samba the son of Lord Krishna, cured from leprosy after taking a bath in the river. Later arrive Puri and checked in at hotel for overnight stay.
4 Day: Puri/Chilika Lagoon
Morning after breakfast visit the Puri Jagannath Temple and see the morning Aarti and Puja. The temple of Lord Jagannath ('Lord of the Universe') at Puri is one of the most sacred pilgrimage spots in India, one of the four abodes (dhamas) of the divine that lie on the four directions of the compass. The present temple structure was built in the twelfth century by the Ganga king, Chodagangadeva, replacing an earlier structure which probably dated to the tenth century. After spending good time, you can have the famous Prasad (meal) of temple kitchen, as the temple has the largest kitchen of the world. Later proceeds to Satapada part of Chilika Lake to see Irawaddy Dolphins and drive back to Puri. (Satapada is 50 kms from Puri). Evening visit bazaars of Puri. Overnight in Puri.
5 Day: Puri/ Bhubaneswar/ Kolkatta
Morning after breakfast, drive to Bhubaneswar to board the scheduled flight to Kolkatta enroute visiting painting village Raghurajpur, patchwork village Pipili and the famous Rock Edict of Mourya Emperor Ashoka, who after the war converted to Buddhism and spread Buddhism all over the world. On departure tour concludes with happy memories. |
