01 Day: Arrival Delhi

02 Day: Delhi
After breakfast take a sight seeing tour of Old & New Delhi.
Morning visit Old Delhi: The important places in Old Delhi include the majestic Red Fort, the historical Chandni Chowk and if time permits you can visit Raj Ghat the Memoir of Mahatma Gandhi.
Afternoon visit New Delhi visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys; the India Gate, a memorial raised in honour of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war; the Laxmi Narayan Temple, built by the Birlas, one of India’s leading industrial families; Qutab Minar, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty; and the lotus-shaped Baha’i Temple.
03 Day: Delhi – Agra (200 kms – 4 hrs)
After breakfast checkout & drive to Agra, enroute visiting Tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar at Sikandra, on arrival at Agra transfer to hotel. After freshen up take a sightseeing tour of Agra covering Agra Fort, Ittamuddaulahs Tomb & the Grand Taj Mahal. Evening free to venture into the handicrafts market of Agra. Overnight at the hotel.
04 Day: Agra – Varanasi (By train)
Early morning visit the Taj Mahal to see it over the sunrise. Full day free for shopping & individual activities. Later in the evening checkout and drive to Agra railway station to board your scheduled train for Varanasi. Overnight on the train.
05 Day: Varanasi
Morning assistance at arrival at Varanasi railway station, transfer to the hotel. After some relaxation explore the Varanasi by taking an excursion to Sarnath, located at 10 Kms from Varanasi where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men; visit at Dharmarajika Stupa, Dhamekh Stupa - the place where Buddha preached first sermon, the Archaeological museum, and the Ashok Pillar with 4 lions, built in 3rd Centaury BC., symbolize both Ashoka's imperial rule and the kingship of the Buddha. Return back to Varanasi, evening take a boat ride on the River Ganges and see the various Ghats with people ritually cleansing their sins. While on the boat you will also see the cremation ceremonies of dead bodies as per Hindi Rituals. Return drive back to the hotel for overnight.
06 Day: Varanasi
Early morning take a boat ride for a pilgrimage from ghat to ghat. People bathe early in the morning to offer the prayers to the rising sun. The two cremation ghats are Manikarnika & Harishchandra where funeral pyre burns day and night. Later sightseeing tour of the city visiting the Bharat Mata temple, Durga temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University which has an Art Gallery and the Mosque of Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb built on the site of an ancient Hindu temple. In the evening visit most famous temple is the Kashi Vishvanath, though off-limits to non-Hindus, can be seen from the top floor of the old house opposite it, strolling in narrow lanes of the colourful bazaar of ancient city. Again in the evening take a bost ride on river Ganges. Later return to the hotel for overnight stay.
07 Day: Varanasi – Khajuraho (By Air)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to the airport to board the scheduled flight for Khajuraho. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. After some relaxation take a sightseeing tour of Khajuraho, worldly known for its magnificent temples of erotica built between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D. take a visit at fascinating western group of temples. Visit the Laxman Temple dedicated to lord Vishnu, the Laxmi and Varaha temples dedicated to Vishnu’s consort Laxman, the Kandariya Mahadev temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Chausath Yogini temple dedicated to goddess Kali. Also visit Archaeological museum with its collection of stone sculptures of the Chandela dynasty. Return to the hotel for overnight.
08 Day: Khajuraho
Early morning visit Eastern group of Temples and visit the Jain temples of Parsvanath, Adinath, and Shanti Nath. Also visit the Panna National Park, 65 kms from Khajuraho. Later the day is free for leisure and relaxation overnight at Khajuraho.
09 Day: Khajuraho - Mumbai/ Delhi (By Air)
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to the airport to board your scheduled flight for Delhi or Mumbai. On departure tour concludes with happy memories. |
