01 Day: Arrive Kolkata
Assistance on arrival at Kolkata. Met at airport and transferred to the hotel for overnight stay.

02 Day: Kolkata – Dimapur – Kohima
After breakfast take a short-guided city tour of Calcutta. Transfer to airport for lunch at airport restaurant. Board Indian Flt IC 207 departing at 1405 Fly from Kolkata to Dimapur Met your Naga Guide with car and driven to Kohima. 75 Kms in 03 hrs. Kohima the capital town is located at an altitude of 1444 metres above the sea level. It is a cosmopolitan town for 16 major tribes with their diversity in dress, custom, language and tradition. Overnight at Hotel Belleview at Pherima, on the outskirts of Kohima

Pherima - Mezoma and Khonoma the Green village: Southern Angami Tribes

03 Day: Drive cum walk Pherima to Khonoma village:
After breakfast drive to Seciina tribal village. Explore the village  and take a 02-03 hrs walk through forests and paddy field to reach Mezoma village. Lunch at the village. After Lunch drive or walk to Khonoma village. Overnight at the village home stay. 

04 Day: Khonoma- village exploration walk
After breakfast explore the village for half a day, lunch at the village In the afternoon you can participate in the local games ‘Kheneh’.   Overnight at the village home stay.

05 Day: Khonoma- Nature & Culture walk
After breakfast, full day nature & culture walk with picnic lunch. A chance to peep into local agricultural methods. The village is well known for fallow management of its Adler trees, which regenerates the soil due to nitrogen fixing element in the roots. See the beautiful terraces carved out of the hill slopes. These terraces grow over 40 varieties of paddy at different elevations. Further a field is the Khonoma Nature conservation and Trogopan sanctuary (KNCTS) This is part of the Khonoma green village project, managed by the Village Tourism Board as a community conserved area. This project aims to conserve the Blyth’s Trogopan- an endangered pheasant of the state, as also many other endemic, endangered, vulnerable and rare species of plants and animals

In the evening join your hosts for a cultural gathering. Try the Local brews.

Kohima; the capital city and Jekhema Village

06 Day:  Khonoma – Kohima – Dimori Cave
Drive from Khonoma to Kohima, 20 kms. We will visit the local market where many insects and variety of food products that the Nagas call ‘delicacies’ are sold. We later visit the Second World War Cemetery and memorial where the famous ‘Tennis Court’ battle took place, which many historians have called the ‘ bloodiest battle’. It was here that the Japanese invasion of India was halted. As also the handicraft emporium. Drive to Khgwema Village on the outskirts of Kohima town for lunch at Demori Cove – a local hospitality complex. After lunch, continue 04 kms to the gate of Jekhema village. Take the 02-03 hrs long village walk to gain further insight into Naga Lifestyles. Return to Demori Cove for 0vernight.

Touphema: Northern Angami tribes

07 Day: Dimori Cave- Kohima- Touphema
After breakfast we drive to  Kohima to visit the state museum. Thereafter continue to  Touphema village (41kms 1 ½ hrs drive). This is a northern Angami tribal village resort where the community plays a very important role in running this place. You will be staying in huts with all modern amenities. Lunch will be served and we will take a tour of both the old Touphema village and the new, visit the village museum Overnight at the village resort.

08 Day: Touphema village exploration walk
After Breakfast, a village walk for half a day. To get to know the local lifestyles. After lunch visit the village museum and rest of the afternoon relax or explore local village on your own. In the evening enjoy local hospitality and taste local homemade wine. Get back for the dinner to the Resort.  Overnight at community Resort.

09 Day: Touphema Nature Walk and cultural evening
After breakfast take a trail to the neighbouring Rengma tribal village through the forest. The trail is soft trekking and will reach the village in 3 ½ hrs. Walk through forests, agriculture fields and farming huts (Called Kheti huts, Take a tour of this village. Lunch is served here. Return to your village resort . In the evening enjoy traditional folk songs and dancing followed by dinner. Overnight at the village resort.

Longsa – Wokha - Longkhum: Lotha and Ao Tribes

10 Day: Touphema- Wokha- Longkhum
Early morning drive to Longkhum (101 km), a village in Mokokchung district. This village is a vanguard village of the Ao tribe in the days of head hunting. The Ao’s have a belief that Longkum is the resting place for the spirit of the dead soul on their onward journey to paradise. The approach road to the village is lined with cherry trees and make a very interesting drive. Enroute visit Lotha tribal villages village and Wokha market – the home of the Lotha tribe, Picnic Lunch.

Longkhum is strategically located at an altitude of 1846 m. On a clear day the snow ranges in distant Arunachal Pradesh are visible. Rhododendrons bloom in Feb-March. Handicrafts and handloom items are locally made and can be purchased. Overnight at Village home stay.

11 Day: Longkhum- Ao village exploration walk.
After breakfast explore Lonkhum village. The day is spend sightseeing, taking a small trek down through the rough rock formation where you can see imprints of animals and human. It is especially famous for the imprints left by Ediben and Jina, the Romeo and Juliet of the Ao tribe. We will also see some of the local handlooms and handicrafts. Evening cultural dance. Overnight at Village home stay.

Jorhat: Tea gardens and bungalows of the “Raj”

12 Day: Longkhum- Mockokchung- Jorhat
After Breakfast drive to Jorhat, enroute visit Ungma village & Mockuckchung Bazar. Picnic lunch  around the foothills of Nagaland near the border with Assam. Cross into Assam and head for the city of Jorhat – a hub of the tea industry. Overnight at Thengal House or at Bara Sahab’s Bungalow at the outskirt of Jorhat town. These are “raj” era tea bungalows A stay at one of these Heritage bungalows in a tea garden enables you to relive the days of the British tea planters.

Kaziranga National Park: Rhinos, elephant herds, Tiger, and more

13 Day: Jorhat tea garden tour and drive to Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast a tour of the Tea garden and factory. Lunch at Thengal House. After lunch a 02 hrs drive to Kaziranga. Overnight at Bon Habi Wild life Lodge at the foot of the Karbi Hills. Resort.

The World Heritage Kaziranga National Park is a highly reputed wild life protected area, located in Assam.  A fabulous mosaic of grasslands, forests, and pools backed by misty hills. The Park has more than 70% of the world's one-horned rhino population, 70% of the world population of the Eastern Swamp Deer and 75% of the world's wild Asiatic water buffalo. It has a significant population of the Asian Elephant.  Close encounters with the Great Indian one horned Rhino, and wild Indian Elephants, Swamp Deer, Asiatic Water buffalo, and a host of animals are assured. There are more than 30 Tigers around – but there is only a 25 percent chance of spotting one. The Park also has more than 450 species of birds, 18 of them are globally threatened species.

14 Day: Kaziranga National Park
Explore Kaziranga National Park looking for wild life.
Take two jeep safaris with lunch at the lodge.
Overnight at Bon Habi Lodge.

15 Day:  Kaziranga National Park
Early morning experience riding an elephant to explore the park  and after breakfast follow it up with a jeep safari. After lunch a trip to see an Assamese village, up close. Overnigh at Bon Habi Lodge.
 
16 Day: Kaziranga- Guwahati
After breakfast drive to Guwahati. Lunch with Khating family and visit Salcuchi Muga Silk weavers. Overnight with Khating family at their beautiful and comfortable house, named “Jhosen” at the outskirts of Guwahati.

17 Day: Guwahati- Kolkata
Drive to Guwahati airport in half an hour, for your flight to Kolkata. At Kolkata met by car with driver and driven to the hotel for overnight stay.

18 Day: Departure
Transfer to airport and board your departure flight.  The tour concludes with happy memories.
